Unification eligibility: Who can combine accounts?

View as Markdown

The X Subscription brings Grok, Cursor, and X together under one subscription. Eligible customers can unify their existing Cursor and Grok accounts and add a personal X account to get X benefits.

Do I have to unify my subscriptions?

Your current plan, price, and features continue unless you change or cancel them. Existing Cursor customers can change their subscription tier and invite teammates without unifying or moving to the new plans, except plans billed through the Apple App Store, which need to switch first. New customers start on The X Subscription.

What happens when I switch or unify accounts?

  • Your eligible Cursor and Grok accounts are combined under one subscription and one bill. A connected personal X account gets X benefits.
  • You pick one of The X Subscription plans. If you’re on Free, you stay free until you choose a paid plan.
  • The subscriptions you combine are cancelled at checkout, and you get an automatic prorated refund for unused time. This doesn’t apply to Cursor subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store: we can’t cancel or refund those, so cancel yours in your iPhone or iPad Settings and request any refund from Apple. We’ll also email you a reminder to cancel after you switch. If it’s not in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder. If you bought Grok, Grok Bot, or X Premium through the Apple App Store, we cancel it and ask Apple to refund the unused time, and Apple decides on the refund. If you bought Grok, Grok Bot, or X Premium through Google Play, check your subscriptions in Google Play after you switch. If it's still set to renew, cancel it there. See Invoices & Refunds for how the amount is calculated.
  • Third-party models in Cursor, like Claude or GPT, aren’t included in your plan. You can still use them in Cursor, billed at API list prices from the first use and paid from your prepaid credit.
  • If your Cursor account has a credit balance, you're charged in full at checkout. Your credit then refunds that charge, and any remaining credit is applied to future charges for The X Subscription.
  • The switch is permanent. It can’t be undone, and Support can’t undo it for you.
