How to unify accounts under The X Subscription

View as Markdown

Existing Cursor, Grok, or X subscribers can switch to The X Subscription and unify eligible accounts at cursor.com/unify (Cursor), accounts.x.ai/unify (Grok), or on x.com (X) via the in-product banner. If you already pay for Cursor, Grok, or X, switch on the web at one of these links.

For now, the mobile apps send you to the web to switch. If you don't pay for any of them yet, you can set up a new account and subscribe to The X Subscription in the Grok, X, Grok Bot, or Cursor mobile apps, if desired. These purchases are billed through the App Store or Google Play Store.

Switching unifies eligible Cursor and Grok accounts into one account with one workspace, one plan, and one bill. Adding a personal X account gives you X benefits under The X Subscription. A completed unification is permanent. It can’t be undone, and Support can’t undo it for you. After you unify, you manage your plan, billing, and settings at grok.com/dashboard.

When you switch, your old Cursor, Grok, and X Premium subscriptions are cancelled automatically, so you don’t need to cancel them yourself. Any refund for unused time is sent separately. See below for exclusions.

Paid for your legacy subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store?
  • Cursor (App Store): We can’t cancel or refund it. Cancel it and request any refund through Apple. We’ll email you a reminder after you switch, so check spam or junk if you don’t see it.
  • Grok, Grok Bot, or X Premium (App Store): We cancel it and ask Apple to refund the unused time. Apple decides the amount. If Apple declines, it won't renew, and you keep it until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Grok, Grok Bot, or X Premium (Google Play): Check your subscriptions in Google Play after you switch. If it's still set to renew, cancel it there.
  • Gifted X Premium or Apple Family Sharing: These aren’t cancelled or refunded.

For who can and can’t switch or combine accounts, see Unification eligibility: Who can combine accounts?.

My X, Grok, and Cursor accounts use different email addresses

The email addresses on your accounts don’t need to match. We connect the X account you sign in to, not an account that shares your email. When you switch, sign in to the exact Cursor, Grok, and X accounts you want to combine, and check each one before you confirm. Keep work and personal accounts separate unless you mean to combine them. If the wrong account appears, stop before checkout and contact Support.

New customers

New users and teams without existing accounts can sign up at accounts.x.ai/sign-up.

Existing customers

When your team unifies, your team members’ data carries over. Team seats include X benefits. Each member gets them by connecting their own personal X account. Joining a team doesn't cancel a personal plan you already pay for. Cancel it yourself if you no longer need it.

Starting from a Cursor team plan

  1. Sign in to Cursor as a team admin, go to cursor.com/unify/team, and click Get started.
  2. On Are you a Grok team billing admin?, click Sign in to add your account and sign in to Grok. Choose your team and click Link team. You can only pick teams where you’re a billing admin. If you don’t have a Grok team, click I don’t have one and we’ll create one.
  3. Choose each member’s seat and role (Admin or Member), and remove anyone who shouldn’t move over. The list includes members from both teams. Keep at least one Admin, and give at least one member a paid seat.
  4. Click Confirm team.
  5. Review your seat count and monthly total, agree to the terms, and click Continue. Team plans are billed monthly.
  6. At checkout, choose your team's saved payment method or add a new one, and click Confirm Purchase.
  7. To add prepaid credit, turn on Auto top-up when balance runs low and click Purchase $X in credits. To skip, click Finish without adding credits. For details, see Prepaid balance and automatic top-ups.
  8. When Your unified subscription is ready appears, click Continue to go to grok.com/dashboard.

Starting from a Grok team plan

After you unify, you manage your plan, billing, and settings at grok.com/dashboard.
